I have spend (ohk wasted ) my countless hours on orkut , facebook (ya I have my a/c on both the sites)…chatting ,poking, uploading pics and videos , updating the profile every now and then…. taking silly quizzes and doing a lot of other silly things…U know what I mean….of course u do….. Every time I log off…there is a guilt …god I shouldn’t have wasted my time doing this and I decide not to log-in till tomorrow…(or maybe till evening…ohk…not till this afternoon...).. I wouldn’t say I am addicted to this “social networking sites”… but then you guys are smart enough to understand…. Cum’on I am not doing anything out of the box….you all do it…bt I am admitting it.. not that Star Plus is going to pay me for this….but who knows Rajeev khandwaal may call me one day… on his show “Sach ka Samna”…hehe….ohk…enough now
Yes it is true that spending countless hours in front of net has become the part of our lifestyle … and we guys have ready-made-excuses for that...in certain ways they are justifiable also…Com’on if you are telling me we can visit malls (coz u cant suggest Humayun Tomb in this scorching heat….) …then I am not interested in visiting the identical twin or triplet malls for just window shopping…so we always try to justify ourself with the fact that we are left with no options ….but the reality is we …here in metros ....like to live a life of anonymity…because we are scared of showing our real self to everyone....not that we have criminal records…but then we don’t want others to know that WE ARE NO SPECIAL…
No matter what ever we say about our graveyard shifts but this automatic century has left us with a lot of time to be own our own…and what we all do at that time…sitting in fron of PC and talking to any Tom-dick-Harry from neitherland…or whatsoever Land…but irony is at the same time we avoid eye contacts with our immediate neighbors just to skip a formal greeting…and while using the elevator we all look blankly at the closed doors like an idiot ….as if a friendly greeting with a stranger is a crime in Delhi…( not as the law stands at present..)…the reason behind this is that 21st century has made all of us (or may be we pretend )a lot private person…
You can listen in every heated conversation …either its with parents, siblings, frnds or spouse….that “YOU HAVE TO RESPECT MY PRIVECY” ….or “I NEED MY SPACE”…(well at that time they are surely not talking about any flat in Greater Noida or Dwarka)….
And then we write articles about the complexities of city life…Admit it…its not the city which is complex….it is we, who is complex…and to make the things a little sorted we don’t need to do something big but just simple things …..so next time when you cross the aunt living next door…do wave her ‘Hello’…she will appreciate it….

rightly said "is it really tht complex????"...bcoz it was for me at least..:)..
But ya u surely was correct somewhere down the line its becoming fashion statement visiting social sites also showing the not so required attitude....
these days some of our frds find it really funny to even wish or just giv a smile to our neighbors...may be it cost them something (some calories i guess!!)...pity on them!!!dont know wat they r running for in life
all d best
tc
you have admmited na that we are try to hide our self.but why? thats the big question...and its better to ask this question from ourself rather than anybody else..
waiting for your next post
Its very ironic that v have accounts on every social networking sites but when it comes to being social, v become such a gauche & hide ourselves behind d four walls of our room.
Good u at least tried to make us realize how unsocial v r becoming day by day.
Good work sweety
shwotu...yup..i too believe tht we are way too far now to express concern at our society...
but the thing tht put me into a terrible predicament is- if i am hiding from myself as well??...or whts the case...srley i have to face rajeev in sach a samna to know wht exactly i want...:-)
but irony is i knw the answer but not ready to face it...sorry babes, for digressing from ur idea ...but u made me to think about maslf thru your entry...chorryy
(i think u r religeously following sach ka samna..:-))
wats new in this article .... everybody already knw these things....so u are nt doing nythng great...
i personally think that u r juzz wasting ur time in blogging also along wid orkut n facebook...
u hvn't done any big thing in accepting that....so go n get a life....
so when do u think about all this....??????i appreciate that u notice these small lil things n also express ur concern...so that people can relate with such issues...good work
well said...!!!!
but the irony lies in the fact that...When every second door existing living being does a Derek O'Brian and you end up doing a lot of 'Sach Ka Samna'...the automatic reaction is a frisk walk to nearest empty space and some solitary return fire after a super grilling rapid fire...
